We do not provide separate accommodation for your dogs. We believe that they are on holiday with YOU. (We are not a kennelling facility). Your dogs are welcome to be with you where you want them to be .conditional upon our : DOGGY DOS (& DONTS) Please Collect dog poos & flush down the toilet. Please do not allow dirty/muddy paws onto furniture or bedding (this applies to owners paws too!). You will find doggy (old) towels in either the laundry or kitchen for messy jobs (please dont use our people towels). Off leash areas are inside your own fence or verandah. On leash areas are anywhere else. Our dog friendly holiday homes have secure areas outside the homes. Please do NOT shut your dog inside if you leave the residence. Please be aware that these holiday homes are situated in a rural environment: Whilst every effort is made to keep your surroundings cleared & mown, we cannot impact on the ever present fauna which may be hazardous to your dogs. Specifically snakes, tics and what we use to decrease the rat population: Rat baits. Rat baits are present under and around some buildings. A specific type of bait is used. This bait can only kill dogs in large doses and will not harm animals that ingest another animal which has eaten the bait. The baits are firmly fixed, as high off the ground as possible in rigid PVC containers. Snakes will always be present they live here too and all are protected fauna. Application has been made to National Parks and Wildlife for helpful identification posters and they should be here soon. Keeping your dog/s on a lead in on leash areas is highly recommended, as this can curb your dogs instinct to race off into potential danger. Generally speaking, given the opportunity a snake will want to get out of your way as much as you want to be out of its way! In winter (particularly) there may be friendly carpet snakes in the ceiling cavity of some properties these are our friends. MOST SNAKE BITES OCCUR BECAUSE PEOPLE HAVE TRIED TO ENGAGE THE SNAKE OR TO KILL IT. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO KILL SNAKES. Tics. Many of the tics your dog may attract are harmless scrub or grass tics, however some tics can mean trouble. Using Frontline Top Spot, fortnightly provides effective protection. Using Rid non aerosol spray can help loosen a tic for removal .this can sometimes take several applications. |
